Chimicum, WA

Today we begin a new adventure. We think of this as our Season 2. It’s Mother’s Day so we did the Brunch at Liberty Shores with Grandma and the clan enjoying each others company. We think of this as our last adult action as we drive off to Alaska - shirking all responsibilities to fulfill one of Karen’s items from her bucket list. When buying the motorhome one of the requirements was a road trip to Alaska. Another was last year’s trip to the northeast to view the changing of the leaves in the fall.

We left late this afternoon for the Escapees park in Chimicum, WA, after eating too much at the brunch. A 25mile drive on country roads moved us to a campsite that is just a short drive into Port Townsend. Tomorrow we have an 8:00am ferry reservation. The ferry trip to Whidbey Island will be the shortest route to I-5 for tomorrow’s drive to Hope, B.C., Canada for our first full day of travel on this trip.

Charlie is a little nervous but a day or two of travel will calm him down. He has his trusted Frisbee and elephant toy so it will feel like home again soon. I am attaching a baby picture today to show off Holden, our first grandchild born in early April. I’m sure in the near future we will find plenty of scenic views of our trip to include.

Great Grandma, Carin, and Holden - Happy Mother's Day!
